My motivation for a degree in Exercise science stems from my large interest in athletics and the functions of the body. During my senior year of Highschool, I was approached by a mentor who told me about the health programs that were offered at IUPUI and I immediately wanted to attend. Given the experience that I have had in this field so far, I am very confident in saying that this is indeed the major and career path that I would like to pursue.

Becoming a chiropractor has been a goal of mine since my sophomore year of highschoool, because during my junior and senior year, a local chiropractor had offered his advice and services to our school wrestling team. The different techniques and exercises that he introduced to us was very interesting to me at the time and sparked my interest to want to go into the field. The main duties of a chiropractor is to help patients with spinal difficulties and can also advise patients on diet and exercise habits to improve the quality of their lives. Something strongly associated with chiropractors is cracking the spine and extremities in order to relieve tension and readjust specific joints and bones, this whole process seems very intriguing and is another reason why I would like to become a chiropractor.
The career field of chiropracting has a lot of benefits like being able to see the progress of your patients and a larger than average growth rate. Being in this field is undoubtedly one of my biggest goals in life to date. Very recently, I have submitted my application to the Palmer college of Chiropractic and I will hopefully attend in the spring of 2024. The road to become a chiropractor is far from easy, which only means that I am going to have to stay diligent and work hard until I am able to reach my goal.
